CienfuegosDanza is a contemporary dance company founded in 1999 as a space for research and creation focused on the contemporary body. Its creations integrate diverse scenic codes and artistic languages, and have been continuously presented in national and international theatres and festivals. YOSHUA CIENFUEGOS

Yoshua Cienfuegos is a choreographer and stage director, founder and artistic director of CienfuegosDanza, a company with nearly three decades of trajectory within the contemporary dance scene. His work operates at the intersection of creation and research, developing a distinctive choreographic language in which the body becomes a space for thought, memory, and transformation.

Throughout his career, he has built a sustained artistic practice that brings together dramaturgy, physicality, and composition, creating stage works with a strong aesthetic and conceptual identity. His creations, presented in national and international contexts, have been recognised by critics and audiences alike, with nominations for the Max Awards and other national and international distinctions, consolidating a long-standing contribution to contemporary choreographic practice.

Alongside his artistic work, he has led Estancias Coreográficas since 2013, a singular project conceived as a platform for research, exchange, and transmission, which has played a significant role in fostering critical thinking around contemporary dance creation in Spain.

In his most recent work, he explores the relationship between body, identity, and memory, with creations such as MADAME (2023), Pentagrama (2024), and EMIGRADAS (2026), where performance and research intertwine organically, reinforcing a body of work that understands dance as a space for knowledge, experience, and transformation.
