EMIGRADAS explores the experience of migration through the body, understanding movement as a living archive, testimony, and a tool for identity survival. The work delves into the invisible processes the migrant body undergoes: constant transformation, the tension between belonging and remaining, and reinvention as the only way to inhabit the present.
Rather than simply representing a theme, the piece embodies it both scenically and emotionally, creating a space for communication that is vulnerable, complex, and deeply human.
The project is structured as a double bill:
Loca
Three performers confront the fears, stereotypes, and inherited expectations that shape their identities. Together, they move toward new, unstable territories without guarantees, reclaiming the freedom to exist while constructing a present of their own.
This journey unfolds with the risk of falling into a fragile and potentially dangerous form of dehumanization. Through gesture, choreography, and text, the piece articulates a tense process of empowerment, where inherited legacies weigh as heavily as the need to break away from them.
La Lunares
An intimate journey where the body emerges as mutable memory. The character transitions from oppression toward self-affirmation, finding a place from which to exist, to listen inwardly, and to engage with their surroundings.
On stage, word and movement merge into a single, indivisible discourse that reveals an authentic being—unfinished, evolving, and free of artifice.
EMIGRADAS reflects on migration as an internal and universal process: the endless journey of leaving behind who we were in order to arrive—if only for a moment—at who we are becoming.
